Rear Window is the 1954 film is the tale of professional photographer L.B. “Jeff” Jeffries (James Stewart) who breaks his leg while getting an action shot at an auto race. Confined to his New York apartment, he spends his time looking out of the rear window observing the neighbors. He begins to suspect that the man opposite may have murdered his wife. Jeff enlists the help of his society model girlfriend Lisa Fremont (Grace Kelly) and his nurse Stella (Thelma Ritter) to investigate. In this film the costumes are once again a product of Edith Head’s talent, including two notorious pieces; a black and white gown and a green suit, both worn by leading lady Grace Kelly.
